Lee Mujin faces backlash after rude rehearsal interruption at 2025 Cheonan K-Culture Expo.
During rehearsals on June 4, a producer allegedly cut off Lee Mujin’s soundcheck, speaking harshly over the mic.
“Stop this. What are you doing? You’ll have time to adjust the sound during the actual performance. The next team is waiting now.”

Fans at the event witnessed Lee Mujin’s visible confusion and disappointment. The singer reportedly showed frustration when speaking to fans after the abrupt interruption.
The expo organizer quickly issued an apology calling it “an unfortunate incident.”
“We sincerely apologize to Lee Mujin, his fans, and the audience members who were disappointed by an unfortunate incident that occurred during the rehearsal for the celebratory performance at the opening ceremony of the 2025 Cheonan K-Culture Expo.
Following the incident, the staff member in question extended a formal apology to Lee Mujin and his team. To prevent such situations from happening again, we have issued a strong warning and conducted internal training for both the event production agency and the individual staff member.”

Big Planet Made, Lee Mujin’s agency, criticized the producer’s “inappropriate and disrespectful behavior.” They promised “strong action against both the event organizers and the production company.”
“We find the inappropriate and disrespectful behavior by the on-site staff during rehearsal extremely regrettable. We plan to take strong action against both the event organizers and production company in light of the seriousness of the incident and to protect our artist. We will take all necessary measures to prevent a recurrence.”

Event organizers confirmed the producer was removed and apologized to Lee Mujin’s team.
“The producer in question was hired by the production company. It appears the message intended for internal staff communication was mistakenly broadcast through the live mic. Even from our perspective, it was clearly disrespectful to the artist… We plan to issue an official apology in person on June 7, Saturday, when Lee Mujin returns to the stage.”

This follows recent tension between Lee Mujin’s agency and KBS that led to the singer missing a shoot of his own show starring NMIXX’s Kyujin.
Fans continue to watch closely as Big Planet Made promises to hold organizers accountable and protect Lee Mujin moving forward.
