Krafton is in hot water with the Korea Fair Trade Commission over misleading PUBG x NJZ collab.
From March to June last year, PUBG ran a special loot box event claiming players were “guaranteed” an NJZ skin by their fifth try. The catch? The real odds were just 9% per attempt. Fans spent way more money than expected chasing their favorite NJZ looks under false promises.
The Korea Fair Trade Commission’s probe found Krafton also misrepresented chances on other PUBG items, with some showing a 0% success rate. This is part of a wider crackdown on gaming industry misconduct.
Krafton got slapped with a ₩2.50 million KRW ($1,830 USD) fine and has 30 days to submit a prevention plan. The fallout cost much more, though. Krafton refunded 380,000 players a total of ₩1.10 billion KRW ($805,000 USD) and handed out ₩9.80 billion KRW ($7.18 million USD) in in-game currency compensation.
