A woman who sparked a massive controversy accusing a Korean male celebrity of two-timing and offering hush money has cleared Lee Jang Woo and On Joo Wan of all involvement with a formal apology.
The woman, known only as “A,” claimed her ex’s agency sent her ₩8 million KRW (about $5,750 USD) to keep quiet before his wedding-themed reality show appearance. She didn’t name names but hinted the man was familiar to people in their 30s and older, not a trending actor.
Rumors targeted Lee Jang Woo and On Joo Wan due to matching initials “ㅇ ㅈ ㅇ” and upcoming weddings. Both quickly denied involvement—Lee personally refuted the claims, while On Joo Wan’s agency dismissed the rumors.
Seeing the backlash, “A” returned with a public apology, saying she never revealed any identity or meant to damage innocent people.
“I didn’t expect such speculation,”
“I saw innocent people getting hurt because of me. That was never my intention.”
