Yang Hyun Suk Unveils Exciting Plans for YG Artists

In a recent announcement, YG Entertainment’s Yang Hyun Suk shared thrilling updates about the promotional activities for their roster of artists in 2023. Fans have much to look forward to, as BLACKPINK is currently hard at work preparing for their next album and an extensive world tour.

Meanwhile, up-and-coming group BABYMONSTER is set to release their vibrant new track, "Hot Sauce," on July 1. This infectious song, described as "simple, fun, and addictive," is poised to be a perfect summer anthem. Inspired by late ’80s hip hop, just before it exploded in popularity in the ’90s, Yang Hyun Suk remarked that this era had significantly influenced his own hip hop dance journey. "It’s very good," he confidently stated about the track.

Following the single’s release, which will be promoted through a music video and appearances on various programs, BABYMONSTER is geared up to drop a mini album on October 1. The album will feature four tracks, including a slow hip hop number that Yang and the group have declared their current favorite. While the title track remains under wraps, fans can expect a "powerful and cool" opening song—that Yang believes would make a stellar start for a world tour.

On the horizon for TREASURE is a new mini album set to launch on September 1, marking their first promotional activity in the U.S. Yang described a poignant two-hour conversation with the members, expressing his commitment to ensuring they remain active this year. With a world tour planned for October, he emphasized the importance of releasing at least two mini albums or a full album each year moving forward.

Looking ahead, YG is also shaping the future with new boy and girl groups in the pipeline. Two male teams are in preparation: A Team, boasting an average age of 18, and B Team, with members aged 15 to 16, eyeing a debut next year.

In addition, YG is developing a new girl group, consisting of four confirmed members whose identities will be unveiled gradually. Yang noted their "great chemistry," which played a significant role in the four-member concept. Excitingly, plans are underway to release solo songs for each member next year.

In response to fan concerns about the timing of album releases, YG has taken steps to restructure its management approach. Yang acknowledged that previously, artists might have had to wait too long to promote, but the new strategy will allow multiple groups to promote simultaneously.

Reflecting on his past hesitations to debut BABYMONSTER while BLACKPINK was active, Yang hinted at YG’s shift towards faster group debuts and a more dynamic promotional landscape.

With so much brewing at YG Entertainment, fans are left buzzing with anticipation. What are your thoughts?
