Yang Hyun Suk's "Unconfirming" Announcement About BLACKPINK's 2025 Comeback Ignites Outrage

BLACKPINK is facing backlash after YG Entertainment revealed new album plans.

On August 17, YG released a company update video focusing on groups BABYMONSTER and TREASURE. Toward the end, former YG head Yang Hyun Suk confirmed BLACKPINK’s upcoming album will be a mini-album. He said it’s still unfinished, with work ongoing during their world tour. He hopes the album will be “out by November, at the latest.

Fans were expecting a full album after nearly three years since BLACKPINK’s last group release. The mini-album news triggered disappointment and backlash across social media.

I take back what I said before, Blackpink going on hiatus for nearly 3 whole years only to be possibly coming back with a mini album is just crazy, so unfair to the fans tbh

No official comeback date has been set for BLACKPINK’s mini-album as of now. Fans continue to monitor the situation closely as anticipation and frustration grow.
