Yuqi is stepping into the producer role for Cube Entertainment’s rookie boy group NOWZ. The controversy? Fans are buzzing over her new project.
On June 15, Cube dropped a behind-the-scenes video on (G)I-DLE’s official channel. The clip highlights the making of NOWZ’s pre-release single "Fly Freely (Feat. Yuqi)." Yuqi shows her support as a senior artist and producer, building excitement for the track.
She shared her experience, saying:
“I thought about what kind of song would suit NOWZ and what genre I’m best at. This was my first time writing a song for a boy group. I’ve always liked stories about youth, and NOWZ gave off that youthful vibe.”
Yuqi revealed more about the song’s intention:
“I wanted this song to feel like a gift for NOWZ. I wanted to tell the members, ‘Fly freely. It’s a message that says, ‘As long as we’re together, we can overcome anything. Wherever you are, whatever the situation, live freely and do what you want.’”
“Fly Freely (Feat. Yuqi)” is written, composed, featured, and produced by her. The track dives into the worries and growth of youth. The video shows NOWZ members embracing each other by the seaside, highlighting their youthful energy.
