BTOB’s Yook Sung Jae is facing backlash over his controversial skit on the 10th episode of SNL Korea.
Yook played an “estrogen man” dumped by a “testosterone woman,” played by Ji Ye Eun. His character then undergoes a harsh “testosterone man” training, growing a beard and long hair for revenge.
Comedian Kwon Hyuk Soo, as the new macho boyfriend, shocked viewers by putting his hands in his pants and sniffing them, saying,
“This is the smell of a man. You look like a guy who doesn’t even have armpit hair.”
Yook Sung Jae imitated the act, sniffing his hands in disbelief.
The scene immediately went viral on social media, stirring strong reactions from netizens.
Many fans slammed the skit:
- “That scene was so dirty.”
- “If that’s his standard, that’s disappointing. Is the appearance fee that important…what good comes out from going on that show…”
- “I hate this show.”
- “It’s disgusting just reading the article.”
- “Did he really have to go on this show…”
